General Description
Polyaluminium Chloride, commonly referred to as PAC, is an inorganic polymer coagulant widely used in water and wastewater treatment applications. It is supplied in liquid and solid forms and is valued for its high coagulation efficiency, fast floc formation, and stable performance across a wide pH range.
Compared to conventional coagulants, PAC offers improved turbidity removal, reduced sludge volume, and lower dosage requirements. These characteristics make it suitable for municipal water treatment plants, industrial effluent treatment systems, and process water clarification where consistent water quality is essential.
Chemical Properties
• Color: Clear to pale yellow
• Solubility: Completely soluble in water
• Reactivity: Stable under normal storage conditions
Technical Specification
•Purity Levels: 28%
• pH: Acidic to mildly acidic
Applications
Polyaluminium Chloride is primarily used in clarification and coagulation processes across multiple sectors.
Drinking Water Treatment: Used as a primary coagulant to remove turbidity, suspended solids, and organic matter from raw water sources.
Wastewater Treatment: Applied in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment for efficient removal of solids, phosphates, and color.
Industrial Effluent Treatment: Used in chemical, textile, paper, and food processing industries to treat process effluents and meet discharge norms.
Pulp and Paper: Improves retention, drainage, and clarity in paper manufacturing processes.
Textiles: Used in effluent treatment to remove color and suspended impurities from dye wastewater.
