General Description
Acrylic Styrene is a versatile styrene–acrylic copolymer widely used in coatings, adhesives, construction chemicals, and polymer-modified systems. It combines the durability and chemical resistance of styrene with the flexibility, weatherability, and adhesion characteristics of acrylic polymers, resulting in balanced performance across interior and exterior applications.
This polymer system is valued for its film-forming ability, water resistance, alkali stability, and compatibility with cementitious and water-based formulations. Acrylic Styrene dispersions are commonly used to enhance mechanical strength, surface finish, and long-term durability in architectural and industrial formulations.
Chemical Properties
• Physical State: Liquid dispersion or solid polymer (grade dependent)
• Colour and Appearance: Milky white liquid or off-white solid
• Odour: Mild characteristic
• Solubility: Dispersible in water (dispersion grades)
• pH: Typically 7.0 – 9.0
Technical Specification
• solid content-49-51,
• vicosity: 40-400ps,
• pH: 8-10, MFFT: 22 °C,
• particle size : 0.1 micron
Applications
Architectural Coatings: Used in interior and exterior paints to improve durability, adhesion, and weather resistance.
