General Description
Monochloro Acetic Acid (MCAA) is a highly reactive halo-organic acid used as a critical intermediate in pharmaceutical, agrochemical, personal care, and industrial chemical manufacturing. It appears as white to slightly yellow crystalline flakes or powder and is valued for its strong electrophilic nature, enabling efficient substitution and condensation reactions.
MCAA is a foundational raw material in the production of carboxymethyl cellulose, surfactants, thioglycolic acid derivatives, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, and specialty chemicals. Its consistent purity and controlled reactivity make it suitable for large-scale industrial synthesis where process reliability and product uniformity are essential.
