General Description
Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose is a water soluble cellulose ether widely used as a thickener, stabilizer, binder, and film forming agent across food, pharmaceutical, personal care, detergent, and industrial applications. It appears as a white to off white free flowing powder and forms clear to slightly opalescent solutions in water.
SCMC is valued for its excellent viscosity control, water retention, and compatibility with a broad range of formulation systems. Its non toxic nature, chemical stability, and functional consistency make it suitable for applications requiring texture control, suspension stability, and moisture management.
Chemical Properties
• Physical State: Powder
• Solubility: Freely soluble in cold and hot water
• Ionic Nature: Anionic
