General Description
Talc is a naturally occurring hydrated magnesium silicate mineral widely used as a functional filler and performance additive across plastics, paints and coatings, rubber, ceramics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, and industrial applications. It is valued for its softness, lamellar particle structure, chemical inertness, and excellent lubricating properties.
Talc improves surface smoothness, enhances dispersion, provides slip and anti blocking properties, and contributes to dimensional stability in finished products. Its low abrasiveness and thermal stability make it suitable for both industrial and sensitive formulations.
Chemical Properties
• Physical State: Fine white to off white powder
• Odor: Odorless
• Solubility: Insoluble in water
Technical Specification
• Particle Size: Controlled as per grade
• Whiteness: Grade dependent
Applications
Plastics: Used as a reinforcing filler to improve stiffness, dimensional stability, and heat resistance.
